Las condiciones económicas actuales favorecen el uso de energía solar para calentamiento de agua y/o aire.
Los actuales precios de los combustibles en México y la mejora de los últimos años en las tasas de interés implican costos más bajos de amortizacón de los equipos solares,lo que ha llevado a que, para muchas aplicaciones,sea má ecónomico utilizar la alternativa solar que usar combustibles fósiles.
En particular los precios del gas LP y del gas natural han aumentado en 52% y en 74% respectivamente,en el período 2002 a 2006(Fig.2).
